Thought I’d try Windows Live Writer, to see what value it adds to my half-assed blogging.  Let me try some stuff.

Here’s a picture of my my main man.  He’s chilling on the beach.  Mom dresses him like a dandy, but he doesn’t notice since he’s busy thinking.

Our landline was out for a couple of days. Oddly, we didn’t notice it until the DSL went out. Anyway, it turns out that AT&T had messed up some wiring as the prepared our neighborhood for “Project Lightspeed”. This Project appears to be a 24meg down DSL-Like service, including phone and IPTV.

I read up on it a little, and it seems to be part good bad idea. Evidently, they are running Fiber as far as the local phone box, but the connection from there to your house remains copper wires. So, they still can’t compete with the potential of Cable lines, but can bring you faster DSL service. It’s enough bandwidth for limited HD viewing (a few channels available in your home at a time), but could get muddled if you are transferring large files or doing other internet intensive tasks. Anyway, good to know we’re getting some updates out here in the woods. Sad that they cut our phone, didn’t notice, and it took 2 days to fix it.
